Accidents
We are pained to hear of an accident which happened to Mr. Samuel M. Weir, the [petite or polite] and efficient assistant Treasurer of the city, at the Fair Ground yesterday. Mr. W. was driving a spirited horse, attached to a buggy, in which beside himself was a lady and child. The horse ran away, and Mr. W. in his effort to take care of the child, found it impossible to control the animal. The buggy was thrown against a tree and upset. Mr. Weir sustained severe injuries, and will be confined for some time. One of his legs is badly cut. The other occupants of the buggy were uninjured.
