Accidents
Joseph Kraft, a young man 17 years of age, who has been clerking in the dry goods store of C. A. Reineking for some time, met with an accident at the Poor farm yesterday, by which both his arms were broken.. Mr. George Kraft, the father of the young man, in company with the family, were out visiting Mr. Brod, Superintendent of the Poor Farm, and after dinner young Kraft, with some other boys, were riding horses to the creek to water them. One of the boys struck the horse that young Kraft was riding, frightening him so that he ran off and while under a run down a hill the rider lost his balance and fell over the horse's head. The horse being wild and vicious pawed at young Kraft striking the left arm near the wrist and the other about four inches above the hand, breaking both arms. In the fall the young man's head was considerably bruised. Dr. Sloan was called and reduced the fractures, and to-day the patient is much better than could be expected under such circumstances.
