New principal named for Floyds Knobs Elementary

Michele Day is chosen as principal for Floyds Knobs Elementary School (to replace Jan Anderson, who is retiring at end of school year).. In other school board action: "The board approved plans to develop construction documents for S. Ellen Jones." New Albany High senior Lauren Coffey is "honored as a recipient of the Bronze Medal as an Indiana Distinguished Finalist in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program". "Linda DeRungs, choral music instructor at New Albany, was also recognized for winning a $7,500 Teacher Creativity Fellowship from Lilly Endowment."
