City School

The New Albany Public School will commence its session in the new building on the corner of Lower 1st and Spring streets, on the first Monday of September next, under the superintendence of Mr. George B. Jocelyn, with Miss McBride as teacher in the female department. There will be two classes of students in each department--the first to embrace spelling, reading, writing, mental arithmetic, and first lessons in geography. Tuition in this class $1.50 per quarter. The second class will be taught arithmetic, grammar, and geography with the use of maps, composition, history, (ancient and modern,) algebra, philosophy, chemistry, geology, botany, astronomy, and book-keeping. Tuition for this class, $2.50 per qr. Tuition to be paid in advance to Dr. H. M. Dowling, Treasurer. By order of the Board of Managers. Wm. A. Scribner, Sec'y.
