Launch
A little boat, intended as a job and tow boat for the coast of Florida, was launched from the shipyard of Messrs. King & Co. on Saturday. Her length is 100 feet; breadth of beam 20 feet; depth of hold 7 feet. She is planked inside and out, the plank outside is 3 1/2 inches and that inside 1 3/4 inches in thickness. She is double fastened, and, altogether, though of small dimensions, is one of the strongest boats ever built in this city, her workmanship reflecting the greatest credit upon her builders and also upon Mr. James Tucker, who is superintending her. The engine and machinery is to be from the foundry of Lent-South & Shipman; two boilers of five feet diameter and 20 feet in length; the cylinder 5 feet stroke. The cabin and boilers are to be in the hold. When she reaches her destination she is to be schooner rigged. Her owner is Mr. Ladd, of Newport, Florida. When completed, she will be taken to the place of her destination by Mr. Tucker, under whose direction she is now being built.
