...Mrs. Esther J. Hale, whose death occurred at Goodland, Newton county, Indiana, on the 21st inst., at the age of eighty-five years.. Mrs. Hale settled in this city in 1815. She was a member of the Scribner family--the first settlers of New Albany. In 1816 she was married to Dr. David M. Hale of Vincennes, and resided in that town from the date of her marriage until 1819, when, with her husband, she removed to New Albany.
