Ben Hur
Ben. Hur, the grand romantic pantomime and historic spectacle, taken from Gen. Lew. Wallace's great novel, was rehearsed by the company at the Opera House Tuesday afternoon and night, and its first public presentation will be given to-night. The rehearsals insure a perfect presentation of this most beautiful and remarkable work to-night. There are in it twenty-one grand scenes, and the paintings in these scenes, the wonderful Oriental costumes, the chariot races, the dancing, everything, in fact, is on a grand and attractive scale. One hundred New Albany people, including a large number of beautiful young ladies and girls, will have parts in the wonderful spectacular and dramatic production, which will be the most magnificent ever witnessed in this city. There will doubtless be a crowded house tonight. Ben. Hur will also be given Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. No one should fail to visit the presentation of this grand historic spectacle.
