William B. Jackson, Sen., died at 1:40 this afternoon at his home on East Market street, between Fourth and Fifth. He passed away through the letting go of the vital energies through advancing years. He would have been 88 years old on the 17th of the present month. He had been a resident of New Albany nearly sixty years ... All his children have been telegraphed of his death. His sons are Rev. John W. Jackson, D.D., Chaplain U.S. Army, retired, now of Philadelphia; Dr. Vincent D. Jackson, of Jeffersonville; William B. Jackson, of Garden City, Kansas; Col. Thomas J. Jackson, of Newton, Kansas, and Lewis Jackson, of Kansas. He also leaves two daughters.
