Georgetown gets request for annexation of plant site
According to Georgetown officials, property owner Timothy Youtesy has voluntarily petitioned to have his 72 acres of land chosen for the plant annexed by Georgetown. Youtesy's deal with Georgetown could mean the property will be annexed by February. The Floyd County Board of Zoning appeals ruled 4-0 to grant a land use variance Nov. 30 that permits construction of the wastewater facility at the site -- which is behind Georgetown Truss Company property. Georgetown was awarded a 3.5 million federal grant in October to build the plant, which could help stabilize sewer rates for approximately 1,400 customers currently served by New Albany
