Man charged with stealing thousands from Travel Authority pleads guilty

A man charged with stealing nearly a half a million dollars from his Jeffersonville employer from 2007 through 2009 pleaded guilty on Monday to class C felony theft in Clark County Circuit Court. Kenneth Schonberg worked for Champion Sports Tours, a subsidiary of Jeffersonville-based Travel Authority. According to a probable cause affidavit, Travel Authority obtained tickets to sporting events, such as the Kentucky Derby, Super Bowl, The Masters golf tournament and Indianapolis Colts games, and those tickets would be given to other companies to be sold to the general public. Schonberg was accused of obtaining the tickets to those sporting events and selling them personally or not turning them all over to be sold for profit
