Local doctor recommends whooping cough vaccine

After a recent whooping cough outbreak in California, in which five babies died Pediatrician Christy Lane from Growing Kids Pediatrics, located on Charlestown Road in New Albany, said she has tried to make her patients more aware of the disease and has been testing infants for whooping cough more frequesntly. Despite the recent outbreak that health officials are labeling as "the worst in 50 years," Lane is hopeful about controlling the spread of the disease. "There is an epidemic, but at the same time, we can prevent this with vaccinations," Lane said
