Governor: Tax numbers show need for cost-saving bills

Gov. Mitch Daniels used new revenue figures -- numbers that show Indiana tax collections falling $75 million short of expectations in January -- on Thursday to urge lamakers to pass cost-saving bills he supports. The state still lags behind predictions made just two months ago, and it's unclear whether revenue collections will eventually meet the December 2009 revenue forecast.
