Police making few exceptions for increased ticketing

A week into the city's revamped efforts to have cleaner streets, NA Police Chief Merle Harl has received a number of telephone calls from motorists who are angry that they're being cited for blocking street sweepers. The answer is always the same: if a sign is posted and it is readable, the person is responsible for paying the ticket. About 300 tickets have been written since Monday; about 25 have been paid.
