Sewer Board passes 70 percent rate hike

A wastewater rate increase moves on to the New Albany City Council for consideration after the Sewer Board unanimously approved the suggestioins of a Crowe Horwath study. In addition to the immediate 70 percent hike, the board also passed a 3 percent increase for the next four years beginning in 2011 to account for cost-of-living adjustments. The council will have three reading to determine what, if any, rate hike will be implemented
