Pertaining to People

Absolom C. Williamson is a thorough workingman and is never so unhappy as when out of work. He has been a ship carpenter for many years and still delights to wield the broad ax and shove the plane. Mr. Williamson was born in Jefferson county, Ky., May 8, 1821, and his three score and fourteen years rest lightly upon him. He can perform more work now than he could forty years ago. Mr. Williamson was brought up on a farm and did that sort of work until he came to New Albany in 1845. He has been twice married and is the father of two children. He resides on Bank street, has many friends and in all respects is a good citizen. He is an active member and worker in Central Christian church and Sunday school and has been for many years.
