Richard Burk, a native of Lawrenceburg, this state, was born January 31, 1825, and went to Louisville, Ky., with his parents when an infant and lived there until 16 years old. From there he went to Harrison county this state and was taught the cooper's trade. He came to New Albany in 1847 and that year was married to Mrs. Martha Ann Davis his present wife. He is still able and willing to work and is a carpenter by trade. His children are Robert Emmett Burk and Mrs. Mary Steinhauer. His residence is on Lower Fourth and Market streets.
