William W. Tuttle died at 4 o'clock this, Monday, morning, at his residence 141 East Fifth street, near Spring, aged 73 years. Deceased had for a number of years been a sufferer from heart disease. When the New Albany and Salem railroad was opened Mr. Tuttle was made assistant secretary of the company under the principal secretary, Mr. George Lyman, and served in that capacity a number of years. His life was passed in railroad service until ill health compelled him to retire from active labor. He was a most genial gentleman and a thoroughly upright man. He leaves three sons--William, Louis and Edward F. Tuttle, and a wife.
