Obituary

Mrs. J. C. Conner, a young married woman, aged 23 years, was found dead in her bed over her husband's saloon on State street, near the Air Line passenger station in the Montgomery block, at 6 o'clock this morning. She was discovered by her father-in-law, her husband not being at home at the time of her death.... The Conners came to this city from Harrison county and went into the saloon business. Mrs. Conner became addicted to drink, and this doubtless led to the attack of the previously developed disease that caused her death.. Coroner Starr was notified and held an inquest on the body, this being deemed proper inasmuch as reports were circulated that the woman had died of poison self-administererd. The Coroner will not return a verdict until to-morrow. It is said the woman and her husband had a difficulty Sunday night before he left home.. See also New Albany Evening Tribune 2/17 pg. 4 col. 3
