The school census

The school census of our city has been completed, and we find there are in the city 3,450 children between the ages of five and twenty-one; 1,754 above State street, and 1,696 below it. Mr. Wilkinson took the census in the upper part of the city, and Mr. Cruzan in the lower part. In the township outside of the city limits there are 794 children between the ages of five and twenty-one, making the whole number in the township 4,244. The number in the city of Indianapolis is 2,582.
