All in the Family: Schilmillers carry on farm through several generations

The work doesn't end when Tom Schilmiller leaves the office. Tom clocks about 50 hours a week at Smith Creek Inc., a wood waste recycling company, as its mobile equipment maintenance manager. Otherwise, he's somewhere on the 200 acres of family farmland, doing what needs to be done, for 20 hours a week. "He's at work usually at about 7 in the morning," wife Jamie Schilmiller said. "Comes home at about 6:30 in the evening. He's on the farm by 7, and he doesn't come back in the house till 9 or 10." See article for more. Continues on page A8. (photos).
