Many persons in this city remember G. W. Miller, a ship-carpenter, and step-father to Mr. Nat. Frazier, who formerly resided in New Albany, and about a year before the breaking out of the war went South. Mr. Frazier yesterday received information that in June, 1861, Mr. Miller enlisted in company E, 8th regiment Louisiana infantry, and remained with the regiment until July, 1864, when he was wounded near Frederick City, Maryland, to which place he was taken, as a prisoner, and placed in a Federal hospital, where he soon after died. Mr. Frazier has these facts from Col. C. J. Fishel, who commanded the regiment. Mr. Miller enlisted at Winnsboro, Louisiana. His widow resides in New Albany.
